My philosophy is that education, the process of education, and the system we educate should focus on the individual student. Every student has a background, lives outside school, and desires attention and love. As an art teacher, I aim to create a space that builds positive relationships with high expectations designed for student success. The art room should be an environment where creativity grows like seeds in the dirt. As the teacher, I must and wish to water each student's creative seed so it may grow into the tallest tree with the most beautiful leaves. Students thrive in a space where procedures are developed to fit their needs. My classroom is a safe place where students experiment with materials and ideas, and students trust that their failures are learning opportunities. My students have a strong bond; they want my approval and know they can trust me.Â
