My educational philosophy is anchored in the belief that the system, process, and practice of schooling must center on the individual child. Every student arrives with a unique background, a lived experience outside the classroom, and a fundamental desire for attention, validation, and care. As an art educator, my mission is to cultivate a studio environment that pairs high expectations with deep relational support, creating a clear pathway for student success. My role is to cultivate each student's unique potential so they may grow into their full creative self. Students thrive when classroom procedures are responsively designed to meet their diverse needs. My classroom is a choice-based space where students are encouraged to experiment with materials and concepts, secure in the knowledge that failure is simply a critical step in the learning process. Building on the Teaching for Artistic Behavior pedagogy, A choice-based studio space where students step into the role of an artist and discover what artists do. Bound by mutual trust, my students know they are supported, respected, and valued for exactly who they are.
